What the evening includes
The listing promises 15 tastings at several restaurants, with drinks included. How many drinks is less clear: the title says four, the description three and the highlights two. A recent reviewer describes one drink at each restaurant. If the drink count matters to you, check the booking page for the version that applies on your date, or ask the operator after booking.
The restaurants change with the season, and the dishes on the listing are examples.
The route
Ebisucho Station sits at the north end of Shinsekai. From Exit 3 the group walks into the district and finishes near Dobutsuen-mae Station on the south side, so plan your way back from Dobutsuen-mae, not from Ebisucho. One reviewer would have liked more walking between stops; the restaurants on the route are close together.
Who cannot join
- Vegetarians, vegans and anyone on a gluten-free diet. The listing rules all three out.
- Children under 10.
- Anyone planning to film. Filming during the tour is not allowed.
A group with mixed diets will find more room in a cooking class; the diet guide shows which ones adapt.
How it compares with the other Shinsekai evenings
Other tours on this site eat in the same district. The 15-dish tour by Osaka Food Tours, Inc. starts at Dobutsuen-mae and moves through five kinds of eatery. Goen Japan meets at the MEGA Don Quijote and lists the most foods. A third tour starts in Shinsekai and continues by train to Dotonbori for okonomiyaki you grill yourself. Among the Shinsekai evenings, Hungry Osaka Tours is the only one with a stated group cap and a stated minimum age.
The Shinsekai tours side by side shows start points, finish points and diet rules for all of them.
